DC shoes and Chris Cole seem like a match made in heaven. Cole, the two-time Thrasher magazine Skater of the Year and commensurate skate rat, needs a shoe that holds up to serious abuse. DC's got Cole's feet covered. For his latest pro model, the Cole Lite S, Cole got slightly more technical in the design. Cole still kept the classic aesthetics that adhere to his sense of style.

WHAT IT IS:
For Cole's second signature shoe design for DC, he wanted to maintain the simple aesthetic he likes but add a few of the bells and whistles that DC is known for to spice up the product. The result is a highly skate-able, suede, cupsole shoe that's lighter than usual and still very durable.

WHY IT RULES:
The Cole Lite S has some innovative technology inside but that doesn't mean that it's bulky or overly tech-looknig on the outside. On the contrary, the shoe's lines are clean and simple. A single-piece, suede toe cap is excellent for flip tricks without any of the stitching that tends to break or open up immediately upon skating the shoe. DC's Unilite midsole technology eliminates a lot of weight while maintaining both board-feel and durability. An Ortholite sockliner is used for added comfort and fit while the articulated foam ankle collar keeps your foot in place by preventing heel slippage.

Asked about the shoe's design, Cole had this to say:

"I tend to like shoes with a very simple plain style, but for my new shoe I wanted something new. DC has always led the way with designs that are unique, forward and refreshing. I wanted to have a shoe that looked fast, and they gave me it to the T."

WHERE TO FIND IT:
The Cole Lite S will be available in stores and online on January 1, 2012. So you'll have to wait a bit to cop these but it'll be worth the wait. Some colorway's will be available for in-store purchase only. So hit up your local shop and find out when they're getting the shoe.
